Recording Studio
MSP is affiliated to Tonewood Recording Studio, which is managed by Mark Reader, a professional musician and song writer.
The studio produces corporate songs, jingles, special effects and voice-overs. Recent productions include work for Grant Thornton, Bitsa, Words and Pictures, We are the Champions and Postman Pat. Recordings have also been made for Disney in Australia, rock and roll legend P.J Proby, Radio City Gold, radio and television presenters Debi Jones and Pete Price and numerous local bands including Av Yea Seen ’em and Strider.
The main control room is equipped with an Apple Mac G5 2.0 Gig dual processor computer, running Pro-Tools via a Digidesign controller. The resulting sound is monitored using Genelec 1031a studio reference monitors.
The second control room houses a Fostex B16 analogue tape machine, Allen and Heath 24 channel mixing desk and a host of outboard gear including; Lexicon, Drawmer, Yamaha and Alesis. Recordings can be mastered to DAT on a Fostex D5, CD or 1/4 inch t ape onto a TEAC tape machine. Digital recording at 24bit 96kHz using cubase VST is also incorporated with a Studio Services custom PC, an M-Audio 1010 sound card, and can be synchronised to tape via an XRI systems SMPT time code generator.
The main sound room is acoustically treated with Melatec reverb control and is faced in blue material, the other two walls are faced in Maple board. This room also has a ventilation system with 10 air changes per hour, and has dimmer eye lights housed in a pine T+G ceiling.
